Kenya Railways Begins Introducing New Passenger Coaches Amid Expansion to Malaba

The Kenya Railways Corporation has begun the gradual introduction of new economy coaches to improve service following complaints about the condition of the old coaches. While the company did not specify a timeline for full rollout, it announced that coaches will also be introduced across all classes. Meanwhile, the extension of the standard-gauge railway from Naivasha to Malaba, which began in March 2026, is expected to be completed by June 2027.
