Kenya has reported nine confirmed Ebola cases and two deaths. A 65-year-old woman, a close relative of the first patient who died, passed away while receiving treatment on October 23; she had developed symptoms on October 13 and was in quarantine. The seven other patients are being treated at two isolation centres, and officials say all cases are within one identified contact group, with no evidence of wider community transmission. In Nairobi, the Kenya Red Cross is running preparedness drills, including training on safe and dignified burials, as surveillance and contact tracing continue.
