Kenya to extend its Standard Gauge Railway line into Tanzania

Kenyan President William Ruto announced that the government plans to invest USD 39 million to extend the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) into Tanzania, including stations in Mwatate, Bura, Mwakitau, and Taveta near the border. The project aims to boost economic activities and facilitate travel between Moshi and major Kenyan cities like Nairobi and Mombasa. This extension is part of a broader initiative to connect Kenya with neighboring countries such as Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Ethiopia through the SGR network.
