Kenyan court convicts starvation cult leader for murder of 191 people

A court in Mombasa found self-proclaimed pastor and cult leader Paul Mackenzie and dozens of associates guilty of murdering 191 people, including 190 children. The group allegedly forced children to starve so they could “meet Jesus”. The defendants had pleaded not guilty and denied charges in other cases, including terrorism, radicalisation and preventing children from receiving an education.
