Kenyan Marathoner Philemon Kiplimo Kimaiyo Handed 2-Year Doping Ban

Kenyan long-distance runner Philemon Kiplimo Kimaiyo, aged 27, received a two-year ban from the AIU after admitting to doping violations involving the prohibited substance chlortalidone. His results from July 19, 2026, have been disqualified, and he will serve his suspension from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2028. Kimaiyo stated he took painkillers and supplements he could not identify, but the AIU found no evidence of intentional doping.
