Kenyans Living Illegally in Europe Face Tougher Deportation Rules Under New EU Law

The European Parliament approved legislation on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, to speed up the removal of undocumented migrants. Kenyans living illegally in the EU must cooperate with return procedures or face stricter enforcement, including detention of up to 24 months. The law also introduces 'return hubs' in third countries and allows searches of homes and seizure of electronic documents with judicial authorization.
