Government Compensates Samburu Residents for Cattle Killed During Security Operation

On November 8, 435 cattle were handed to Samburu residents as compensation for livestock killed by police during a security operation launched on September 19. The handover took place at the Maasai Mara National Reserve during the Maa Cultural and Tourism Event, led by governors Patrick Ole Ntutu, Jonathan Lati Lelelit and Joseph Ole Lenku. Police reportedly killed more than 700 animals belonging to 43 families, who are seeking over Ksh70 million in government compensation. Ibom Deep Sea Port: NDC questions Tinubu’s fresh approval

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has questioned the fresh approval of the Ibom Deep Sea Port announced by President Bola Tinubu during a visit to Akwa Ibom State on November 6, 2026. The party recalled that the Federal Executive Council had approved the first phase of the $4.6 billion project on December 16, 2020, naming Bollore/Power China as the preferred bidder. It accused the APC of making repeated promises without delivering and asked how many times the federal government would approve the same port. Gayton McKenzie accused of misleading voters over Muslim support for the DA

Political analyst Fazlin Taliep accused Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie of misleading the public by claiming that Muslim voters in Cape Town supported the Democratic Alliance (DA) while criticising his position on Israel and Palestine. McKenzie made the remarks at the Electoral Commission of South Africa’s national results centre and described the DA as a “Zionist party.” Taliep disputed his claim, citing voting-district results from Rylands and saying the Muslim community there had not collectively voted for the DA. McKenzie also referred to criticism of the PA and Al Jama-ah’s election performance in Cape Town.
