Kerebiri-Mein chiefs, youths protest delayed staff of office

Chiefs, women, and youths of the Kerebiri-Mein Kingdom in Bomadi, Nigeria, staged a peaceful protest demanding the presentation of the staff of office to their monarch, HRM (Barr.) Godspower Tam Oporomo. The protesters, drawn from the kingdom's 10 communities, expressed frustration over the prolonged delay in the state's recognition of their kingdom. They also alleged that political considerations have been responsible for the delay since the monarch's coronation in 2016.
