The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) plans to build 60 staff housing units across 17 of the country's 172 forest stations to address a severe housing deficit. The units will include two- and three-bedroom houses and are a joint project with the State Department for Housing and Urban Development. Many rangers currently live in temporary tents or improvised iron-sheet structures.
