Khady Diagne in custody over 49.5 million CFA franc land fraud

Khady Diagne, 46, is in custody at the Criminal Investigations Division following a complaint by F. Cissé alleging land fraud, forgery and use of forged documents, involving a claimed loss of 49.5 million CFA francs. In 2024, she allegedly offered Cissé a 325-square-metre plot in Ngor for 90 million CFA francs and received a 45.5 million deposit, along with a promise of sale and a notarized deed that notary Mouhamed Aly Touré says he did not sign. Cissé also found that another person occupied the land; Diagne reportedly promised to repay the money by July 5, 2026, but then became unreachable. She faces a separate complaint from Papa Diallo, also known as Zator Mbaye, involving 24.3 million CFA francs, and was referred to the Dakar prosecutor in August over an alleged similar attempted fraud.
