Kidnappers Abduct Six People Transporting a Corpse in Benue State

Six people travelling from Kano to Okpoga in Benue State were abducted by gunmen on the Adoka-Otukpo Road at about 8 p.m. on Friday. They were transporting a woman’s body to her hometown for burial; the kidnappers left the corpse in the vehicle. Activist and citizen journalist Meddy Olotu said the abductors demanded a ransom of 15 million naira and were still holding the six people on Monday. The FRSC found the body the next morning and took it to the Adoka police station before it was transferred to a morgue.
