King Charles’ Birthday: UK Reaffirms Commitment to Stronger Nigeria Ties

In Abuja, British High Commissioner to Nigeria Pete Vowles reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to strengthening a bilateral partnership he described as dynamic, reciprocal and ambitious. Speaking at an event marking King Charles III’s 78th birthday, he said he would work to implement agreements reached during President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to the UK and explore new areas of cooperation. Vowles urged Nigerians to contribute their ideas and energy to the relationship. Blackson Olaseni Bayewumi, country director of the Royal Commonwealth Society in Nigeria, congratulated the King and cited initiatives promoting Commonwealth values in the country.

Shakahola massacre: despite Mackenzie’s conviction, families demand answers
