King’s College: Minister ‘scared’ to face workers

The crisis over the planned concession of King’s College in Lagos deepened as Education Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa was alleged to have declined to meet protesting workers at the ministry's headquarters in Abuja. Workers under the Joint Workers Committee barricaded the ministry's entrance, demanding that any invitation from the minister be formally communicated in writing. Despite a proposal to meet at the Tertiary Education Trust Fund headquarters, the unions insisted on meeting the minister at the ministry.
