Kinshasa: a barge from the Global Express ship sinks at Nganda Musolo port, passengers missing

On October 4th, an accident occurred at the General Kalume port in Nganda Musolo, Kinshasa, when one of the four barges of the Global Express ship sank while maneuvering at the quay. The barge was carrying palm oil and passengers, some of whom remain missing. Following the sinking, a large oil spill formed on the Congo River surface, hindering rescue efforts. Local residents arrived by pirogues to collect the floating oil using various containers.
