Kinshasa: a conference on sickle cell disease to raise awareness about this genetic and hereditary disease in the DRC

From September 11 to 13, 2026, AdrepaLifestyle held a series of events in Kinshasa to raise awareness about sickle cell disease. A discussion panel brought together health sector stakeholders, followed by a conference emphasizing the importance of rapid screening. Speakers, including Dr. Martin Colard and Anne-Marie Masengu Ompeta, shared their experiences and expertise, while testimonies highlighted the challenges faced by patients. Honorable Antoine Ntabala also presented a bill proposal to support the fight against this disease in the DRC.
