Kinshasa: Another Fire in Limete Causes Significant Material Damage in the Absence of Firefighters

A fire broke out on September 7 in Limete, causing significant material damage at the 'Bonne Auberge' event hall. Fire services were unable to respond due to distance, according to a witness. The deputy mayor of Limete, Isaac Mukendi, called for the establishment of fire services in each municipality to prevent such incidents in the future. Kinshasa reportedly has fewer than five fire trucks, with none available in any of its 24 municipalities.
