Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been shaken by several deadly fires since last weekend, including one that claimed the lives of around ten people at a wedding. Firefighters often arrive late and with limited resources, with the city having fewer than ten fire trucks. A bill to modernize the firefighters' corps was submitted in November 2022 but was not examined by the National Assembly.
