Kinshasa: Wedding hall fire results in 22 deaths and several injuries, according to the provisional report from the mayor of Lingwala

A fire that broke out on the night of September 4 to 5, 2026, in the Panacée wedding hall in Kinshasa resulted in 22 deaths and several injuries. Mayor Norbert Mushiga Nzindula reported that evacuation was hindered by a single narrow exit and heavy smoke. Victims were taken to various hospitals in the capital.
