Kinuthias: from a bar to Sh9.5bn stake in Quickmart

Zipporah Wanjiku Kinuthia managed to convince her husband John Kinuthia to support their venture into retail with Quickmart, despite his initial doubts about the lower profit margins compared to their longstanding bar, lodging, and butchery business in Nakuru. Over nearly two decades, their family business sustained them, and their stake in Quickmart grew to approximately 9.5 billion shillings following the company's IPO. They transformed a small local business into a major retail player in Kenya.
