Kisangani: a preschool and a hospital temporarily closed after confirmed Ebola cases

Kisangani's Desmet Hospital in Makiso has been temporarily closed for 21 days due to Ebola, with nearly ten staff members testing positive, including Dr Victor Kingombe who died on September 24. La Borne preschool in Tshopo was also closed for 21 days after an Ebola case was confirmed in a teacher whose husband works at DHKis. Another health facility in Makiso is under surveillance following a staff Ebola case. The province reports 45 confirmed cases and 18 deaths, with Makiso remaining particularly concerning and Lubunga having over 70 days without new cases.
