Kisumu Court Convicts Three Family Members in Ksh113.2 Million Fraud Case

Senior Principal Magistrate Fatuma Rashid found three members of the same family guilty on all six counts in a case involving the alleged diversion of Ksh113.2 million. The charges concern customer payments and wholesale goods taken from a Kisumu distribution business between October 2020 and July 2021; the former accountant allegedly manipulated records while payments went to accounts linked to the other two defendants. An audit and forensic examination found Ksh113,227,529 unaccounted for, and the court rejected the defence claim that the transactions were legitimate. Sentencing is scheduled for October 29, 2026.
