KMA Plans Rescue Centre to Boost Emergency Response on Lake Victoria

The Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) plans to construct a Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) at Kisumu Port to enhance emergency response on Lake Victoria. The project will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase involving the construction of the MRCC building, an ambulance bay, and 70 parking spaces. Measures will be taken to minimize risks to fishermen and other lake users during construction, including marker buoys and spill response equipment.
