A two-day strike by nurses and midwives at Kenyatta National Hospital has been called off following negotiations between hospital management and the Kenya National Union of Nurses and Midwives. An agreement was reached that includes improved medical cover, structured promotions, and the progressive conversion of contract nurses to permanent positions. The hospital will also hire 200 new staff and increase allowances, including a uniform allowance of Ksh25,000 and a Nursing Service Allowance of Ksh30,000.
