South Kivu: New clashes between AFC/M23 and FARDC/Wazalendo at Point Zero

Violent clashes have been ongoing since September 19, 2026, at Point Zero in the Mwenga territory of South Kivu. The fighting pits the FARDC, Wazalendo, and Burundian forces against the AFC/Red Tabara Twirwaneho coalition. The violence has spread to the villages of Biziba Irumba and has caused population displacement and disruptions to socio-economic activities in several villages in the region.
