KQ Positions for 2026 World Cup Travel Boom as Dreamliner Returns

Kenya Airways announced the return of its grounded 787-8 Dreamliner fleet, which had been out of service since the first quarter of 2025, reducing its operating capacity by 20%. The return of the aircraft coincides with the peak travel season, particularly due to the 2026 World Cup in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. KQ plans to increase its flights to Gatwick to five times weekly starting July 4, 2026, and is set to launch direct flights to Beijing Daxing later this year.
