KRA Staff Could Receive 3% Bonuses for Exceeding Revenue Targets Under New Law

President William Ruto signed the Kenya Revenue Authority (Amendment) Act on October 16, 2026, providing that the KRA will receive 3% of revenue collected above its target in each quarter. The KRA is also guaranteed annual funding of at least 2% of its estimated revenue collections. The law changes the authority’s board composition to include the managing director of the Kenya Ports Authority, aiming to improve coordination between the two institutions.
