KURA Extends Closure of Eldoret Road for 3 More Months Over Construction Delays

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has extended the closure of Eldoret Road in Nairobi by three more months, now expected to reopen on December 30, 2026. The road was initially closed on May 18 for the construction of a vehicular bridge over the Nairobi River, but unforeseen logistical issues and delays in delivering construction materials have caused the extension. KURA advised motorists to use alternative routes and deployed traffic officers to manage flow. Additionally, KURA announced a partial two-month closure of Mlolongo-Kamulu Road starting October 1 for construction works.
