Kwango: unpaid for 5 months, Kahemba civil servants announce three days of strike

Civil servants in Kahemba, Kwango province, announced a three-day strike to demand payment of five months of unpaid salaries from May to September. The syndical coalition demanded immediate payment, giving the bank responsible 48 hours to settle the arrears or face a work stoppage. The unpaid wages have also caused school closures in the neighboring territory of Popokabaka due to the non-payment of school operational funds.
