Thirteen Ebola patients recovered and left treatment centres in Beni on October 27, 2026, after about ten days in hospital and negative test results. Among them was nurse Tsongo Sivasimire, who contracted the disease while treating a patient and urged people to support response teams and seek care promptly when symptoms appear. Doctor Jérémie Muhindo said Ebola is treatable and called for an end to the stigma faced by survivors. North Kivu reported 58 new cases in 24 hours, while Ituri remained the epicentre with more than 7,200 cumulative cases; the fatality rate stood at 56%.
