Labour Medal of Honour: 55 FER and AGEROUTE Employees Honoured

On November 4, 2026, at the Hôtel des Armées in Plateau, 55 employees of the Road Maintenance Fund (FER) and AGEROUTE received the Labour Medal of Honour during the organisations’ 25th anniversary. Three employees received the Vermeil medal for 25 years of service, while the other 52 received the Silver medal after at least 15 years. Ministers Adama Kamara, Yacouba Hien Sié and Amédé Kouakou attended the ceremony. The leaders of FER and AGEROUTE praised the employees’ work supporting the national road network.

The multinational exercise “Fangha,” part of Grand Multinational Exercise GEX 2026, will take place from November 7 to 14 in Jacqueville, Yamoussoukro and Bouaké. The Ivorian, Gabonese and French armed forces will participate to strengthen interoperability and their ability to respond to regional security challenges. The General Staff says troop, vehicle, ship and aircraft movements, as well as noise, are expected in the areas. Army General Lassina Doumbia says measures are in place to protect residents’ peace and quiet.

Google will turn off Gemini, Gemini Notebook, Gemini in Classroom and Search’s AI features by default for K-12 student accounts until school administrators enable them. The worldwide rollout will begin in the United States, though Google has not set a date, and schools will not be able to offer Search without its integrated AI features. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani accused Google of trying to force AI into public schools, while the company said the changes give schools more control. More than 150 million students use Google Classroom, and New York and Los Angeles announced plans in September to restrict AI access on school devices.
