Lagos: Nigerian govt begins Kara Bridge repairs

The Federal Government announced plans to begin repairs on the damaged expansion joints at the Kara Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway starting September 8. The repair work, expected to last two weeks, will be carried out in stages to minimize traffic disruption. Richard Adeleye, Acting Controller of the Federal Ministry of Works in Ogun State, warned that neglecting the damaged joints could lead to more serious structural issues and has been linked to several accidents in the area.
