Lagos to begin airlifting 1,600 pilgrims for 2026 Hajj on May 7

The Lagos State Government announced plans to begin airlifting 1,600 pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj on May 7. Commissioner for Home Affairs, Olanrewaju Ibrahim Layode, confirmed the inauguration of an ad-hoc committee to coordinate pilgrimage activities in Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims will be transported in phases, starting with an initial flight of 345 pilgrims, followed by additional flights until May 13.
