Lake Annecy: a 25-year-old swimmer drowns in Veyrier-du-Lac, one year after a previous tragedy at the same location

A 25-year-old man drowned on Saturday, August 29, at the Brune beach in Veyrier-du-Lac, after being found 30 meters from the shore. Despite rescue efforts, he could not be revived. This tragedy comes one year after another 25-year-old drowned under similar circumstances at the same beach. Since the beginning of the 2026 season, several drownings have been reported on Lake Annecy, often outside monitored areas.
