Land Affairs seek to strengthen management and security of archives in DRC

The Ministry of Land Affairs in the DRC has launched a six-day training for over 200 officials from nine land registry districts in Kinshasa, aiming to modernize land archive management. The initiative addresses issues such as outdated storage facilities, deteriorating paper documents, and the loss of key files. Minister O’Neige Nsele emphasizes that land archives are vital for protecting land and property rights, and highlights digitization as a crucial step in transforming land administration. Nearly 5,000 land files had already been digitized in seven districts of Kinshasa.
