Land Conflicts in Côte d'Ivoire: 4,396 Cases in 9 Months, 16 Deaths (Vagondo Diomandé)

From January to September 2026, Côte d'Ivoire recorded 4,396 land conflicts, with 2,276 resolved, affecting 2,319 villages and resulting in 16 deaths. The Tonkpi and Guémon regions account for nearly 35% of cases, with 756 and 734 conflicts respectively. A major conflict in Kossandji in August 2026 resulted in 7 deaths and 16 injuries, highlighting the importance of early prevention and effective land dispute management by authorities.
