Launch of a National Voluntary Civil Disarmament Campaign in Kinshasa

The Congolese government, through Deputy Prime Minister Jacquemain Shabani, officially launched a national voluntary civil disarmament campaign on September 23. Led by the CNC-ALPC, the initiative aims to reduce illegal weapons circulation in six priority areas by offering judicial amnesty and material support to citizens surrendering their arms. The approach is non-coercive, respectful of human rights, and promotes citizen responsibility and peace awareness.
