Lavington Homeowners Issued Demolition Notices as Nairobi Rivers Commission Marks Riparian Land

The Nairobi Rivers Commission identified encroachments on protected riparian land along the Kibagare River in Lavington. Notices were issued to affected homeowners, directing them to channel grievances to the Ministry of Lands at Ardhi House. This operation is part of a broader effort to reclaim riparian reserves and restore Nairobi's river ecosystems. Over 300 notices had already been issued in May 2026.
