Le Potentiel: “By taking the helm of the FRN, Kabila complicates the ‘inclusive’ national dialogue”

The creation of the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation (FRN), led by former Congolese president Joseph Kabila, dominates Kinshasa’s press review. Le Potentiel says Kabila’s leadership of a politico-military movement complicates his inclusion in the national dialogue and reinforces the presidential camp’s red line against groups that have taken up arms, putting opposition group C64 in a dilemma. Communications Minister Patrick Muyaya accused Kabila of aligning himself with the M23 and Rwanda and attacking the constitutional order, while the government says it remains committed to the Washington and Doha peace processes. The press also reports the upcoming arrival in Kinshasa of a senior US delegation led by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.
