Libya: Protest against irregular foreigners

Hundreds of Libyans demonstrated Thursday in Tripoli in front of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) headquarters against the presence of irregular foreigners in their neighborhoods, calling for their expulsion from the country. Holding red cards symbolizing a demand for expulsion, they chanted slogans such as 'No to settlement' and 'Libya belongs to Libyans', while also calling for the closure of UNHCR offices. Signs denounced Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, accused of wanting to force Libya to host migrants.
