Libya: Rival camps agree on a roadmap for elections

After years of political deadlock, key Libyan actors signed an agreement in Tripoli to organize presidential and legislative elections within 24 months. Negotiated under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, the agreement includes electoral authority reform and the unification of national institutions. The political process had been stalled since the cancellation of the December 2021 elections due to disagreements over voting rules.
