Lightning kills police officer on duty in Maiduguri

A police officer, Abdulkadir Garba, known as 'Buratai', was killed by lightning while on duty in Maiduguri, Borno State. The incident occurred last Wednesday at about 2:19 p.m. as he was coordinating vehicle parking near the state police command headquarters. His colleague, ASP Wazani Adamu, was also struck but survived with injuries. Garba's death has drawn reactions of sorrow from colleagues and residents who knew him.
