The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been named guest of honor at the Dakar Biennale, scheduled for November 2026 in Senegal. The Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage presented this distinction as international recognition of the DRC's cultural influence. Congolese cartoonist Barly Baruti Kandolo called it a cultural diplomatic victory to be capitalized on. The program Parole aux auditeurs explored ways to leverage this opportunity and discussed the promotion of cultural policy in the DRC as well as initiatives by Congolese artists.
