Lomé hosts first scientific conference of the armed forces health service

The first Scientific Days of the Central Directorate of the Armed Forces Health Service are being held in Lomé from October 21 to 23, 2026. Military doctors and health professionals are discussing trauma care, war injuries, psychological trauma, specialist emergencies and treatment under universal health insurance. Medical Colonel Abalo Anani, chair of the scientific committee, said daily symposiums would address challenges faced in the field. The armed forces health service provides medical support to military personnel and also treats civilians, as participants consider integrating military facilities into the national health coverage system.
