Tuareg rebels free more Malian soldiers in prisoner swap, sources say

Tuareg rebels have freed about 60 Malian soldiers in exchange for Inkinane Ag Attaher, a former Malian army officer turned defector. Ag Attaher, arrested in 2025, was a prominent figure in the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) and accused of orchestrating attacks in Mali. The agreement was overseen by the Nigerien government and also facilitated the release of some rebel members held in Malian prisons.
