Machakos Cracks Down on Landlords Over Illegal Sewage Discharge

Several landlords and property caretakers were arrested in Machakos during a crackdown on the illegal discharge of untreated sewage. The operation, conducted on September 1, was carried out by the Machakos County Department of Lands and Housing in Syokimau. The county government warned that failure to comply with regulations could lead to legal action, especially with the anticipated El Niño rains increasing the risks of flooding and environmental pollution.
