Macky Sall received by Emmanuel Macron as part of his candidacy for the UN

Former Senegalese president Macky Sall was received on Tuesday, June 2 at the Élysée by French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss his candidacy for UN Secretary General. Sall thanked Macron for the warm welcome and shared his vision of a reformed UN, based on rationalizing, simplifying, and optimizing. He had been auditioned by the UN General Assembly in April. The Élysée has not officially commented on the meeting or indicated support for his candidacy.
