Makinde urges Tinubu to stop burdening Nigerians with unrealistic policies and projects

Seyi Makinde, Oyo State governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), urged Bola Tinubu’s government to stop burdening Nigerians with policies and projects he called unrealistic. Speaking at a campaign town hall in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, he criticized initiatives he said had been abandoned or produced no tangible benefits, including Naira for Crude and the presidential CNG initiative, and called for the government to publish its fuel-pricing calculations. Makinde accused the APC of undermining opposition parties and said five of the South-South region’s six states had not voted for the party in 2023, predicting the region would back the APM in the next election. He said the APM’s Reset Agenda focuses on education, economic growth, security and federalism, and noted that people in the oil-rich South-South remain poor.
