Malawi: Chikangawa Plane Crash Inquiry Hears Conflicting Visibility Reports

A former weather station chief testified before the parliamentary inquiry into the Chikangawa plane crash, stating that the military aircraft could have safely landed at Mzuzu Airport on the morning of June 10, 2024. Olive Chavunguma reported visibility of eight kilometers, which she deemed sufficient for landing. While acknowledging challenging weather conditions, she emphasized that she could not confirm whether the weather caused the crash.
