Malaysia has declared a state of emergency in the Serian division of Sarawak due to air pollution reaching 'hazardous' levels from wildfires in Indonesia. King Sultan Ibrahim consented to the declaration following a request from the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee. As a result, 647 schools and various offices will close starting Monday, while a cloud-seeding operation will be extended until next Monday.
