Mali: AES confirms "intense air campaigns" after attacks

The joint anti-jihadist force of Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali conducted intensive air campaigns following attacks by jihadists and Tuareg separatists. These attacks, which occurred on April 25, 2026, resulted in the capture of the strategic city of Kidal and the death of Defense Minister Sadio Camara. The Sahel States Alliance (AES) has increased its forces to 15,000 men to address this security crisis.
